it was an extremely meaningful and good time; met up with great ppl like seon hon, eileen, TTC FG grp, ang & TG 283, was able to just immerse myself in the reading of some really good books (both for personal pleasure and for my papers in TTC) - i think within the first 2 weeks, i read about 6 books; in the last 6 weeks, read 13 books. may blog on some really good reads much later. my latest read was on jim elliot.
week 1: i went on a silent retreat with Sonia and Susan at Lifesprings; was really good to just retreat and think about God and what He would want me to know, feel and do. It was seriously a fantastic time of being introspective and retrospective. each of us went to have 1 hour with the spiritual director to speak about issues in our lives. Spent a lot of time with Sonia and Susan talking about our lives, the people ard us and also talking to God about it.
also went MAAD with Sus and Gloria :p and ate at maxwell market! i was pretty intrigued by the poems section and was very tempted to buy some really nice accessories but had to peel myself away from the shops cos had to save money since the bangkok trip was due the following week. really like the layout of the place and was very mesmerised by the arty light display (right). looked almost like decorated ice-cubes. ha.

imagine the song "fly me to the moon" playing in the backgrd as chang-er ascended to the moon. haa ... fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars, let me know how spring is like on jupiter and mars :p ha.. lameness
week 2: went on a holiday with Serene and Sonia(left) to Bangkok and explored quite a no. of places! the greatest part of this holiday wasn't the shopping or food but the fellowship! i seriously mean it! i had such a good time with Sonia and Serene - discussing about issues and talking to God about it. it was such a good time of being opened and i really felt so supported in my walk with God.
went to chinatown, little india, pratunnam, platinum mall,mbk, wat po, khao san. had my very first thai massage that i really enjoyed cos i was having a good chat with the lady masseuse.
it sounds silly but we were not aware of bomb which went off on mon. only knew it when auntie helen (serene's mom) and grace cheong sms us to ask us if we were alright! we didn't see any reports over the news and i even had to confirm with a shopkeeper if there was a bomb. everything looked normal. just that there were more policemen patrolling
and yes, i did practice my thai; was able to understand here and there and tried to order food in thai. spoke abit of thai with shopkeepers who were pretty surprised. 1 even gave me
discount but i didn't buy any stuff from her cos by then no money liao. haa
it was thai new year (sawadee pi-mai!) aka wan songkran on the last day of our trip in bkk and we saw drenched teenage girls, white powdered faced youth and some pple with waterguns shooting water at passing buses. it was quite nice to see all that happening :)
the day before the bangkok trip, i had dinner with my TTC Family Group at Siam Kitchen.
food was good and the fellowship was a blast!
my FG mentor is Rev Dr Steve who's really passionate about youth! haa.. really learnt a lot from him :) really thank God for my FG who really encouraged me through this semester cos quite alot happened. they're a bunch of really zany pple! no one would really believe that they are in TTC. haa
week 3: the week whereby i was rushing my assignments! haaa :) now i'm left with 2 more and i'm done for the semester! yay!
